Guide for authors

Types of Articles

The journal Neuroeducation (ISSN: 1929-1833) publishes scientific papers related to brain and education. The articles are submitted to a peer-review process.

The journal presents seven types of articles:

  1. Experimental research: publication of research results;
  2. Experimental research in preparation: presentation of the context and methodology of an ongoing research;
  3. Theoretical article: presentation of a learning or teaching model based on previous research results;
  4. Methodology: discussion about methodological issues related to using brain imaging or peripherical nervous system measures;
  5. Literature review: presentation of a summary of a set of research results related to an educational subject;
  6. Commentary: documented opinion paper;
  7. Book review: review and critique of a book.

Guidelines

  1. To facilitate the layout of the journal, you must use this template (Word document);
  2. References should follow the APA style (see details in the template);
  3. All types of articles should have between 5 and 25 pages (excluding references, but including figures and tables), with the exception of book review that should have a maximum of 5 pages;
  4. For an article presenting research results, the main sections of the text must be: 1Introduction, 2. Methodology, 3. Results, 4. Discussion.

Deadline

Proposals for article should be sent by email.

Important Dates (concerning the issue published during winter):

  • By September 30: Authors submit their proposed article to the journal;
  • By October 31: Scientific reviewers give their report to the journal's editor-in-chief;
  • On November 15: The editor-in-chief announces to the authors the acceptance (with or without conditions) or rejection of their paper;
  • By November 30: If applicable, authors submit the new version of their article integrating the requested changes;
  • By December 10: Editorial assistants finish reviewing the articles;
  • On December 12: Proofs are sent to authors for final check;
  • By December 14: The authors must give their approval for publication by filling the form Partial Assignment of Copyright;
  • During winter: The texts are published in the journal Neuroeducation.

  • On June 12Proofs are sent to authors for final check;
  • By June 14The authors must give their approval for publication by filling the form Partial Assignment of Copyright;
  • During summerThe texts are published in the journal Neuroeducation.
